Nomination going back to Areas

Dave S. (12-Step Retreat Chair) nominated Jim L. (current 12-Retreat Vice-Chair)
for the 12-Step Retreat Chair next year.

Note:  The nomination form was hand-written and a copy will be in the mailed meeting minutes.  If information is required before then, see the Regional Committee Member (RCM) for your Area.  A copy of Jim’s nomination form was given to the RCM’s before they left the October RSC.

Motion:  To make nominations for next year’s 12-Step Retreat Chair in July instead of October.  They would be elected at the October RSC and the term would begin after the close of our retreat.
 

Intent:   This is to give the Chair three extra months to form their committees.
Pro:      See intent.
Con:     None given.
Vote:    8-0-1

Note: Robert F. stated that the passing of this motion is a violation of policy. See Revised Motion #2003:33, dated 1-10-04 below which corrects the previous motion.

Motion: To make nominations for next year’s 12-Step Retreat Chair in July instead of October. The Chair would be elected at the October RSC and be allowed to start forming a committee. The outgoing Chair would be responsible to the RSC until the January meeting.


Intent:   To allow the incoming Chair to start forming their committee and allow the outgoing Chair to fulfill their responsibilities to the Region.

Motion:  For the Ohio Region to withdraw from its participation in the
Midwest Zonal Forum.

 

Intent:  Our participation in the forum has been time-consuming for the Trusted Servants delegated to attend and financially tapping the RSC for little information that doesn’t effect the function of our present service structure.  Our need for participation does not help us carry out our primary purpose.
Pro:  Large financial savings vs. small amount of information given.
Con:  We should stay and be part of the growth and change of the MZF.

Motion:  To have a Policy Coordinator position.
 

Intent:  To keep policy updated.
Pro:  Designated position to keep policy updated.
Con:  Vice-Chair is already responsible for this duty.
