January 2005 RSC New Business Motions going back to Areas

Motion 2005:13                 Date:  1-9-05

Maker of Motion:  John A. – MOASCNA RCM

Seconded By:  Dave L. – RD-Alternate

Motion:      That open mid-term positions may be filled at the Regional meeting.  The elected person shall serve in that position until the next regularly scheduled election.  A two-thirds majority of RCM’s shall be required to fill a mid-term vacant position.  This motion modifies Section 3.8 of policy.

Intent:       To allow the Region to fill vacant position in a timely manner and therefore function more efficiently.

Pro:           To fill vacant position in a timely manner and immediate fulfillment of responsibilities.

Con:           Takes vote away from group and individual

Vote:         At the April '05 RSC:  10-0-1
